All Non-Streaming Breaking Fate Events Suspended Through May 2020.

DEKALB, IL, Breaking Fate Entertainment is sad to announced that they are suspending all non-streaming, in person events effective immediately through May 2020 in light of the new “Stay at Home” order issued today by Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker due to the growing threat of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Below are the affected events with current plans for each event moving forward.

03/28 – BREAKING FATE FILM FESTIVAL – We intend to do a web based festival by way of a LIVE Youtube and/or Facebook feed on 3/28. This exhibition is still being planned at this time, but will include a number of BFE films and possibly more. More details coming too to www.breakingfate.com

04/18 – VISUALLY ODD CON – The 2020 Visually Odd Con will be postponed to a future date yet to be determined. All vendor fees will be applied to the new date when rescheduled or to one of Breaking Fate’s future shows. We realize the horrible impact this pandemic is having on vendors and we plan to do promotions online to encourage online sales in the between time. We will continue to monitor the situation and plan to reschedule as soon as possible. We will be in touch with all vendors individually over the next few days to see how we might be able to help them during these trying times. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding. Please watch our website www.VisuallyOddCon.com and Facebook for updates.

04/25 – LAUGH OR DIE COMEDY FEST – The 2020 Laugh or Die Comedy Fest live event will be canceled. We will be processing a refund of all ticket sales no later than April 15th. In effort to still bring these great comedy films to public view, we are exploring ways (possibly a LIVE Youtube feed) to exhibit our 2020 film selections, with the approval of filmmakers followed by the announcement of awards in the same LIVE feed. We will be in touch with each filmmaker and comedian individually over the next few days to discuss personal involvement in online festival. We appreciate everyone’s understanding during this crisis that is obviously out of anyone’s control. For updates visit www.laughordiecomedyfest.com and Facebook.

05/16 – SHOW AND TELL FILM FESTIVAL – The 2020 Show and Tell Film Festival will be postponed to a future date yet to be determined. We will continue to monitor the situation and reschedule as soon as possible. We will be in touch with each filmmakers individually over the next few days to update on the situation. We appreciate everyone’s understanding during this crisis that is obviously beyond anyone’s control. For updates visit www.showandtellfilmfest.com and Facebook.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Beyond May, our next events are the Smoky Mountain Film Festival scheduled to take place at the Creative Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN on Saturday, June 13th and the Cinema Soup Film Festival scheduled to take place at the Red Roof Inn in Dekalb, IL on Saturday, June 27th. At this time, both events are still being planned as scheduled. In the event that we are still not in the clear regarding the current pandemic and restricted public assembly, we will be putting a live stream backup plan into place. Furthermore, online ticket sales for these or any other future events will not be made available until the current pandemic restrictions are lifted.

We at Breaking Fate Entertainment wish to express our most heartfelt apologizes for the changes in these events. We have held out as long as possible until no longer legally able. At this time we are looking for more ways to help out artists. If you have any questions or ideas, please contact Willy Adkins by email at willy@breakingfate.com. We will continue to stay dedicated to supporting the independent arts to the best of our ability during these challenging times. Please be safe, be healthy and be creative.
